Port Canaveral
Any list discussing notable ports in Florida must include Port Canaveral. This port is set to have an extremely high growth rate in the next 5 years. It’s expected that the cruise traffic will double and the cruise traffic alone is expected to double and the cargo will increase by 20 times.
This port also hosts the following cruise lines: Carnival, Disney, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian. It’s expanding its cargo accommodations with a dredging project and intermodal facilities in the works.

Just north of PortMiami is Port Everglades. The port does not rely on any tax dollars and had net earnings of $153 million in 2014. $26 billion worth of economic activity was carried out through this port.
It is estimated that 203,700 jobs are impacted by the activities carried out through this port. It has 8 multi-day use cruise terminals that can serve more than 40 ships.
Jacksonville Port Authority
This privately owned facility generates 132,000 jobs and $27 billion in annual economic impact. Its short term plan looks to deepen its channel and collaborate with the transportation department in an effort to link Jacksonville to the interstate road network and rail system.
This year several state projects, including the Mile point river flow improvements by the Army core of engineers, will be improving this port a lot this year.
Key West Port
The port of Key West is the US Navy’s southernmost pier and shares the space with a privately owned Pier B. This is one of the most famous ports in Florida brings a lot of commerce to the city with its cruise dockings. The otherwise quaint town of Key West is preserved due to the ocean being one of the most used forms of transport.
The port looks to repurpose a plot of land nearby into a exceptional urban park for residents and visitors to enjoy the waterfront. This is only a cruise port of call.
Port Manatee
This Tampa Bay port specializes in deep-water vessels and features 70 acres of lay-down area, one million SF of warehouses and office space. and 207,000 SF of refrigerated warehousing.
Its mission statement includes how the port looks to help countywide economic growth with the implementation of incentive programs for businesses, a goal of many ports in Florida.
Port of Miami

Known as the cruise capital of the world this port, probably the most famous out of the ports in Florida, saw 4 million cruise travelers last year. This year’s forecast shows that number to be even greater.

Port of Palm Beach
